EMR/ESD and TEM Database

The SATC Center Database is centred around registration of advanced polyps and early colorectal cancers as well as EMR/ESD and TEM treatments.  The database was established in 2007, and the purpose is to register all advanced endoscopic resections thereby measuring the efficiency and outcomes of the procedures as well as ensuring that the protocoles for managment are correctly followed.

The following parameters are registered

• Procedures
• Results
• Patient information
• Follow up results

The different parameters are being updated and changed regarding the present issues we want to approach.
We are using the results for quality assurance as well as for publications. Furthermore the results from the database are used as guidance for national guidelines.

As of today 1400 procedures are registered and 4 publications have been published in international journals with more likely to follow.

Each department only has access to their own data and each department is the legal owner of their data.

We are collaborating with Department of Surgery at Aarhus University Hospital, Aalborg University Hospital, Vejle Hospital and Esbjerg Hospital. On the long run we hope to become a national database.
