This project is a multicenter randomized controlled trial that will enroll 400 Danish and Swedish patients who have undergone resection of high-risk colon and rectal polyps.
For one year following endoscopic resection, participants will be randomly assigned to consume either 100 ml of placebo juice or 100 ml of a specially formulated carrot juice, rich in falcarinol and falcarindiol.
These distinctive compounds, naturally present in carrots, have gathered evidence from preclinical studies, meta-analyses, and cohort research demonstrating their anti-inflammatory and anti-neoplastic properties without indicating any significant toxic side effect.
The study aims to achieve the last milestone, through a prospective human trial, underlining a reduction in polyp size and quantity, potentially lowering the risk of developing colorectal cancer in high-risk individuals.
